Who can benefit from a CSC membership?

Small firms and start-ups

Building capabilities for future growth
Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) comprise 99.8% of all firms, employ around 70% of the national workforce, and contribute about 60% of value added. They are the backbone of the national economy and significantly contribute to national innovation. However, SMEs and growth focused Start-Ups lack the resources and the systems to navigate the commercialisation pathway. The CSC works with these firms to help build their knowledge and networks to assist their founders and managers make better strategic decisions.

Large firms

Preparing for the 4th Industrial Revolution
Large firms face the challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Digital technologies will transform not only the products, processes and services that these firms produce, but their very business models and corporate strategies. Future success will depend not only on how a firm adopts new technologies, but how is transforms its people, processes, culture, structure and systems. Successful commercialisation will require agility, speed, collaboration and open innovation. The CSC works with large firms to meet these challenges.

Research organisations

Bridging the gap between town and gown
Research organisations play an important role in the national innovation system (NIS). Their research and education programs provide the foundations for new technologies, and the future founders and employees of the innovation ecosystem. However, most universities find the commercialisation of their research difficult. The CSC works with universities, other research organisations to enhance their technology and knowledge transfer practices, strengthen their links to industry, and develop the knowledge and skills of their students and staff.

Professional services firms

Enhancing the commercialisation ecosystem
Professional service firms in fields such as accounting, law, engineering, R&D, marketing, research, venture financing, risk management and executive development, play a key role in the commercialisation ecosystem. They provide the advice and support needed by organisations seeking to commercialise new products, services and processes. The not-for-profit "IP-neutral" structure of the CSC provides an ideal environment for such firms to showcase their services and expertise, exchange knowledge, network and meet new clients.

Government agencies

Developing effective innovation policy
Governments at all levels are keen to stimulate more innovation and commercialisation. They recognise its importance to economic growth and the creation of new jobs. Governments and their agencies invest significantly in programs designed to assist start-ups and SMEs, and encourage greater returns from R&D spending within universities. CSC works with government agencies to assist the development of best practice policy.

The wider community

Embracing innovation and enterprise
As a member-based organisation CSC is open to anyone who shares our passion for and interest in the pursuit of best practice in commercialisation. The CSC is open to members who are individuals or incorporated entities. The CSC provides a community of purpose, a forum and a distribution point, for the exchange of knowledge about commercialisation. We also help networking amongst our members to help them achieve their goals.
